Kansas 1950 car license plate Cowley county #8-5562. This is an unusual plate. After the production of 1950 plates had begun, some counties were in need of more 1949 plates. 1949 plates are black on bare aluminum and apparently after producing some 1949 plates the paint rollers were not thoroughly cleaned of black paint before they started producing 1950 plates again.  This led to a few 1950 plates being two color plates, with part green and part black numbers and text. This plate has a distinctly green county code number (8) and dash, with the remaining numbers transitioning from green to black color.
