My Story
Hello,
I'm Tom Allen. I've been a collector of license plates for over 50 years, and am a member of the Automobile License Plate Collector's Association (A.L.P.C.A.). My interest in plates began as a 10 year old boy when I met G.B. Moore, A.L.P.C.A. member #101, at a local antique automotive swap meet. An amazing assortment of plates from all around the world filled his booth. He had plates made from porcelain, leather, brass, copper and other materials, dating back to the beginning of the automobile. The variety of shapes, colors and materials, some from places I'd never heard of, piqued my curiosity. For my 11th birthday, my mentor, Russ Bartley, bought me a membership to the A.L.P,C.A. and I've been a member ever since.
I collect plates from all over the world, but in particular, I collect every year of every type of Kansas state issued plates, as well as city issued plates and boosters. Another area, in which I specialize, is WWII era military base access plates and WWII related license plate toppers. While these two areas encompass the bulk of my collection, I have collected hundreds of plates from all over the world as well. Click on My Want List for a partial list of what I'm looking for.
I am always looking to buy quality Kansas plates as well as plates from elsewhere to add to my collection or as inventory for my website. If you have plates and are looking to sell or trade, please contact me at my email address, deansbooks1426ks@gmail.com.
